Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will I be able to pay for project and have money for school from my job during the summer?

A: Yes, the money a student can earn while working on the LP can cover the costs of the project and leave a little leftover to help towards the upcoming school year, but we suggest all students raising at least a part of the project costs.

Q: Will I need to find a job before arriving at LP?

A: No, it is not required to have a job before arriving at the LP and students will have a chance to find one after they arrive. Campus Outreach staff serve as a liason between employers and students but it is still each student’s responsibility to find a job at the project. Students can line up jobs before arriving to the project with the project director’s permission.

Q: Can I leave the project during the summer?

A: The effectiveness of the Leadership Project comes from consistent and undistracted participation, therefore, the LP Guidelines state that “No out-of-town trips are permitted.” A student’s acceptance to the project may be affected by the need to leave the LP.

Q: What is support raising?

A: As an LP participant, you have the option of asking individuals, families, and churches to sponsor you during the summer to help pay for the expenses of the project. Raising support can be a great way to cover the costs of the project as well as an opportunity for others participate in your summer experience of growing with the Lord! At the LP retreat in April, you will receive more training on the goals and practical aspects of raising support to help you get started.

Catalytic Events

Catalytic events are any events of our people gathering to see God bring about change: change in a person and change through a person. Campus Outreach Greenville sponsors three catalytic events every year in order to help students take significant steps forward in their relationship with Christ. These events are designed both for students who want to investigate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ or who want to make an impact for Christ on their campus. Our three catalytic events are the New Year’s Conference, the Leadership Project (LP), and the Cross-Cultural Project (CCP).
