Our Story:
Mike: I grew up as a moral, overachieving kid who knew about God but did not know Him personally. I sincerely believed that my good works and achievements in life would earn me salvation from God. Somewhere in the 5th to 6th grades I encountered the truth of the gospel from attending church with friends and understood that both my sinful nature and trust in my own good works were offensive to God. By seventh grade, I finally surrendered my life to follow Jesus Christ and to know Him personally. In high school, I grew in my faith through a local church youth group and was finally exposed to training and life-on-life discipleship through Campus Outreach in college. My time involved with Campus Outreach grew me in my relationship with the Lord and gave me the tools to teach others what I was experiencing. Upon graduation, I joined the COG team in an administrative role to use my gifts to support our staff and the overall ministry.

Carrie: I grew up in a home that taught by word and deed the true meaning of the Gospel from the very first years of my life. I am thankful for my parents and the community around me that showed me what it meant from an early age to have a real relationship with Christ as well as what it meant to walk by faith. At age 8, I realized that I was a sinner and in need of something more for my life. What I experienced was truly a childlike faith. In the years following I was blessed to be part of a church that emphasized the importance of missions. I learned to share my faith with others and wanted others to experience the truth of the Gospel. Attending Presbyterian College and getting involved with Campus Outreach only taught me more about grace, discipleship, and real community. I then joined Campus Outreach staff at Lander University for a few years followed by working with Campus Crusade Military Ministry in DC and NC. God reconnected my life with Mike after 4 years apart, and Mike captured my heart! Now 10 years from when we first met, we are enjoying ministering together to the college community.
