"I grew up going to church and heard the gospel from an early age and remember praying a prayer to receive Christ at a young age but it was not until around 8th grade that I really felt like my faith became my own through having to trust the Lord with issues outside of my or my parents control. The Lord used a mission trip I went on that summer as well as relationships with youth staff from my youth group to point me to Christ.
My junior and senior year in high school I was discipled by a woman who had been involved with Campus Outreach at Georgia College and State University. She invested in my life and taught me to study the word, pray, and meet with the Lord myself. During my time at Furman I continued to grow in my walk with the Lord through being discipled by a campus outreach staff person as well as participating in two summer beach projects and a cross cultural project to South Africa. The Lord continues to teach more about discipleship and evangelism and what it is to be a part of his kingdom going forward."
